Track 124° – Grandstand

Is your circuit a little dull? Here is an accessory that will add a bit of color and relief to your circuit. A beautiful grandstand that can be placed in front of the starting grid, near a bend, or wherever you want!

The box is rather imposing and does not seem to require too much assembly. When opening, the stand is indeed composed of several large elements and a few small parts. The instructions are very simple on one page and even a single drawing.

To start, I put the stickers as long as we have space and it is not assembled. First the stands with the seats. Be careful to position them correctly, they are just at the right size.
Then the advertising panels above the stand and at its foot. For this 2 boards are provided with 4 different models.

  • Carrera
  • Mobil1
  • Varta
  • Motor Sport aktuell (a German magazine)

Look carefully at which board corresponds to which part and compare the sizes.

Next step, insert the ramps of the steps. No need for glue, the posts fit and remain without problem in their housing.

The most delicate point, the assembly of the upper part with the green bay window. First, you have to fix the rear staircase. You have to delicately slide it into its housing. Then you can fix the glass part under the roof, by sliding the assembly.

And finally, the last step is to assemble everything vertically.

All that remains is to place the assembly on the edge of the track. It is possible to position several side by side or at various locations on the circuit.

Price-wise, it’s between €55 and €60. You might think it’s a bit expensive, but the plastic is of excellent quality.

Note that Carrera offers a set of 5 characters (20021127) for the sum of approximately €23. A bit expensive if you want to fill your stand. Especially since in the 5 characters, 3 are seated and 2 are standing. For 84 seats in the stands you will need 28 packs and a budget of €644. Especially since there will only be 3 different characters, it’s not huge!
