Today, we’re heading to the USA, but not to test a set, just some cars. The cars do indeed come from a set, specifically the GO “Street Legends” set, reference 20062601, with a suggested retail price of €75. However, since the track itself isn’t anything special or new, we’ll focus solely on the cars.
So, we’re going to talk about two American cars, and what’s more, they have a distinctly American livery. Let’s take a look.

Ford Mustang ’67 – Stars ‘n Stripes
Just saying “Ford Mustang” already implies a legendary car, but when you see the livery on this one, CARRERA really outdid themselves with this design. The front of the car features stars on a blue background, reminiscent of the American flag. The eagle’s head on the hood is a particularly striking touch.
This car is impossible to miss on the track.
On the track, its handling is flawless; it’s incredibly fast. The Mustang holds its line perfectly and takes corners with ease.
It’s quite robust, as it lacks a spoiler, meaning only the two side mirrors are vulnerable to breakage. Weighing in at 38.5g, it’s remarkably lightweight.

However, I was struck by the sound of the car on the track. The car makes a soft and pleasant noise compared to the other vehicles. I don’t know why, but it’s very enjoyable to drive.

Chevrolet Camaro Stars ‘n Stripes

The Carrera GO!!! Chevrolet Camaro “Stars ‘n Stripes” is more than just an electric slot car. It’s a statement of power. With its patriotic livery in the colors of the American flag, it embodies the very essence of the Muscle Car: loud (visually!), fast, and untamed.
This 1:43 scale replica allows slot car enthusiasts to hold in their hands an American automotive legend, ready to devour the loops and tight corners of Carrera tracks.
On the roof, an eagle with outstretched wings is the starting point for the red and white stripes of the American flag, which extend to below the rear wing. The hood features 10 white stars, a nod to the American flag. The side panels each display a long American flag that appears to flutter with the car’s speed on the track.
In terms of fragility, the rear spoiler is so close to the trunk that it’s not exposed to impacts and is very unlikely to break. However, care should be taken with the side mirrors, which are a bit more exposed.

The scales indicate a weight just under 39g.
On the track, its performance is normal; nothing much to report, the turns flow smoothly without any particular issues.

American right down to the bumpers
I really enjoyed seeing these two American cars on the track. I wanted to find a sand-colored carpet and put some cacti around the track to make myself feel like I was racing in the American desert.
It’s nice to have one light-colored car and one dark-colored car on the track; it’s easy to tell which one is which.
The set that contains these cars is a bit small; a small extension would increase the fun. And if you remove the loop, you’ll be able to keep the mirrors longer.

Conclusion
Since the COVID period, the American market has rediscovered slot racing, and Carrera is clearly targeting this market with this set. But we Europeans are also delighted to be able to enjoy it. Two very nice cars for anyone who loves American cars.
