
Today, I decided to test two items I printed a few weeks ago: a set of tires and a sign that overlooks the track.
There are many small track accessories available for printing that can add visual appeal and decorate the circuit. A little research will help.

3D tire line for chicane

This 3D file appeared before Carrera released the chicane track. This accessory is an ideal complement to the Carrera track. It can be positioned anywhere, on the right or left, in a straight line or on a curve.

I printed it in white, but a little paint would greatly improve the effect of this row of tires. The color isn’t a good choice because, even if it’s the original tire color, it wouldn’t be very visible on the track; alternating white and red would be a good choice. Or, as is now seen on some circuits, yellow and blue.

Personally, I find that a three-dimensional object makes a big difference compared to a simple drawing on the track. When you’re driving, a 3D reference point is much easier to see and therefore anticipate while driving. So I think this row of tires is a good addition.

It would have been nice to have a slightly longer model to offer greater challenges and better match the width of the Carrera chicane. However, this also allows you to benefit from Carrera’s system, which penalizes vehicles for entering the restricted area.

The Hybrid top panel

This accessory is, in my opinion, essential; I need to print more of them. It adds a lot of depth to the track and allows you to mark specific areas or points.
It’s a display board, and you can put logos or inscriptions on it. You can use it to indicate the pit lane entrance, a narrowing zone parallel to the previous accessory, the starting line, or even the distance to an approaching turn, like on real circuits, with the 100-200 meter mark. This opens up a multitude of possibilities.
