Formula 1 is experiencing a true renaissance, fueled by the phenomenal success of last year’s film. This enthusiasm is so widespread that the sport is now everywhere: from LEGO sets to KitKat chocolate bars, and even pasta in the circuit’s colors! But make no mistake: while many brands are trying to ride this wave, Carrera is no newcomer. The brand has held the official license for many years, proving its long-standing presence in this booming market.
The rise in F1’s popularity can only be good news for our slot car racing set manufacturer.
I have a few Carrera GO Formula 1 cars from last season waiting to be put on the track. Now’s the time to introduce them.

I have two Formula 1 cars that came from an expansion pack, but also some individual blister pack cars.

- Ferrari F1 SF-25 L. Hamilton, No.44
- Oracle Red Bull Racing RB21 “M. Verstappen, No.1”
- McLaren MCL39 L. Norris, No.4
- Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance L. Hamilton, No.44
Since all Formula 1 cars handle the same on the track, they use the same chassis, and only the bodywork differs. On our cars, the aerodynamic differences have no impact.
I’m simply including a few photos of them in action.
As always with Carrera, the vehicles are faithfully reproduced; the shapes, the decorations, everything is spot on. Only the small block for the braids at the front reminds us that it’s a slot car.

Looking at the photos, it makes you wish you could race more than two cars on a GO track and do Grand Prix events. I’ve never tried a Carrera D143, but having a Carrera D132, I can imagine the fun of racing more than two cars on a GO track.

Reminder: F1 cars are fragile, take care of the front and rear wings, avoid frontal impacts and violent off-track excursions.
Video
A video about Formula 1 and Carrera recently appeared on the Carrera website, and I have to say it’s a good one. Well done, Carrera! This is a great achievement that bridges the gap between real F1 cars and slot cars. It certainly involves a fair amount of AI, but the result is excellent and complements this article very well.
All that’s left to do is bring out your Carrera GO track for the next Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Happy racing everyone!
