When using the Slot Track Architect track editor, I always wonder if the track is fast or slow, and if the cars will be fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During Formula 1 Grand Prix races, you see track layouts with track colors based on various parameters. I’ve always thought that would be amazing for our tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So here’s a tool that, based on different parameters, will estimate speeds on the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will also allow you to choose a car based on its characteristics relative to the main characteristics of the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you’ve created a track with Slot Track Architect, go to the \u00ab\u00a0Files\u00a0\u00bb tab on the right and click the \u00ab\u00a0Send to Telemetry\u00a0\u00bb button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note that some specific track types are not yet supported, but this is in progress (for example, crossovers and GO loops).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The page is divided into four sections:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To the left are adjustment sliders for different vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the bottom right corner, a graph displays speed variations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the bottom left corner, some data is displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All cars are different, so depending on their characteristics you can modify the following parameters:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Acceleration (cm\/s\u00b2): The vehicle’s ability to gain speed<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Braking (cm\/s\u00b2): The vehicle’s ability to slow down or stop<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Maximum Speed \u200b\u200b(cm\/s): The fastest speed the car can reach<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Grip: The tires’ ability to grip the track without slipping<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Weight (g): The vehicle’s total mass<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Center of Gravity Height: The vehicle’s balance point, which determines its stability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Other sliders are available:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Colors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        On the map, the colors are displayed according to speed, with the following color palette<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Green: slow speed<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Red: medium speed<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Blue: fast speed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          This allows you to easily get an idea of \u200b\u200bthe fast sections of the circuit, as well as the slow sections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          A white dot moves along the track; its speed is displayed on the left, and a vertical bar shows its position on the bottom curve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          By pressing the floppy disk icon on the right, you can export the track with its colors to SVG format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
