Vehicles in the GO NASCAR Talladega Competition set

The NASCAR GO vehicles arrived in their blister packs featuring the NASCAR hologram, a sign that they are official products. Since I didn’t purchase the set because I can’t find the NASCAR-style layout, I’m going to create my own track.

The individual car packs are on the side of the track in a beautiful blister pack, with the car beautifully displayed in front of the CARRERA card.
We can also mention the small sticker with a NASCAR hologram, which signifies that this product is an official product. The associated QR code points to the website www.nascar.com.

The cars are freed from their packaging, it’s time to give them a lead.

I don’t want to do a complex circuit to test the vehicles. I’m in a hurry, which is good because typical American circuits are very simple, just an oval. Their particularity is that they have banked turns. Well, let’s take out the GO banked turns and make an oval. The two turns are banked curves with a radius of R1, the tightest.

Here’s the circuit, ready to welcome the cars, which can be positioned on the starting line. Be careful during the first few laps; the cars are still being broken in, and the track may be dirty. After a few laps, we put the tires back on to optimize contact and ensure the car isn’t too raised so that it doesn’t jump around on the track.

The cars are quite fast and don’t leave the track easily like some heavy and tall vehicles.

A big plus of these cars is that they have no rearview mirrors, no antenna, no spoiler (well, just one integrated into the body). So if you go off the track, there’s no fear of breaking any part of the car. (Nothing like Formula 1 cars, which are very fragile, I’d even say very, very fragile – but so beautiful and fast on a track – anyway, I digress.) All this to say that your little nephew who’s just starting out will be able to drive a NASCAR car without you sweating at every turn.

Also available in the set are the high, flexible trackside barriers that are 100% NASCAR. You’ll want to put them all along the outside of the oval. When the car is on the banked outside curve and it brushes against the fence, you’ll feel like you’re there.

The laps follow one another at a frantic pace, we now have the cars under control, a final check of the braids and it’s time for the radar test.

The radar

Don’t worry about losing points on your license; on the track, the goal is to really drive him crazy.
The radar test consists of 5 laps to achieve the best speed and average speed.

Alex Bowman, n°48
5 tours
Vmin : 312.97 cm/s
Vmax : 318.07 cm/s
Average : 315.06cm/S
Chase Elliott, No.9
5 tours
Vmin : 324.17 cm/s
Vmax : 347.51 cm/s
Average: 334.76cm/S

Alex Bownman finished 9th in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series and Chase Elliott finished 7th. Coincidentally, there’s a slight difference in that direction.

Conclusion

Solid and pleasant cars that take us on a journey to American circuits.
